Conditions of Club Membership

In applying for or renewing membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd I agree to be bound by the following Conditions of Membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd.

1. I confirm that I understand that the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club is a Company limited by guarantee, and that any profit the Company makes is retained on deposit or applied to the work of the Company, and not distributed by way of dividend or bonus amongst the members of the Company.
2. I confirm that I understand that every member of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd undertakes to contribute to the assets of the Company in the event of the Company being wound up while a member or within one year after ceasing to be member, for payment of the debts and liabilities of the Company contracted before ceasing to be a member, and for payment of the costs, charges and expenses of winding up, and for the adjustment of the rights of the contributories among themselves, and I agree to contribute such amount as may be required not exceeding the sum of one pound stirling.
3. I confirm that I am in good health, and am aware that Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding are risk sports.
4. I acknowledge that all actions I undertake in pursuit of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding shall be entirely at my own risk, and I waive any claim against any member, Director, Officer or Official of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd for any loss I may suffer in pursuit of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding.
5. I agree to inspect before use any items of equipment which I may use in pursuit of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding, whether or not such equipment belongs to, or is provided by the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd. I therefore take full responsibility for ensuring that any equipment I may use in pursuit of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding is airworthy, and that I am suitably qualified, experienced and insured to safely operate such equipment, and agree to make no claims against any member, Director, Officer or Official of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd should my inspection or experience prove inadequate.
6. I agree to indemnify and keep indemnified at all times the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd, and its Directors, Officers and Executive Committee against any claim for damages, loss, or injury caused by, arising from, or consequent upon any act or omission on my part at any time during my membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd.
7. I confirm that I am a current member of the British Hang Gliding and Paragliding Association (BHPA), and agree to keep my BHPA membership current during my membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd.
8. I confirm that my BHPA membership includes third party liability insurance cover, and that to the best of my knowledge that cover is adequate for the actions I intend to undertake in pursuit of Hang Gliding, Paragliding, Paramotoring, and Powered Hang Gliding whilst I am a member of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd.
9. I confirm that to the best of my knowledge, my agreement to these terms and conditions does not nullify any insurance cover I may possess.
10. I agree to the personal details disclosed in my application for membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd being held in computer and/or a server databases, and held in printed records, by the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd or their agents Cymnet and PND Services for the purposes of maintaining membership records and mailing lists, and for any other purpose incidental or conducive to the work of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd.
11. I confirm that I understand that the personal details disclosed in my application for membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd, and/or the personal details disclosed in my application for renewal of membership of the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd, can be viewed and amended on-line by logging into the on-line Club membership database using my personal password, Club membership number, and BHPA membership number.
12. I confirm that I will never share my personal password, and I also agree to take all reasonable precautions to keep my personal password, Club membership number and BHPA membership number secure at all times.
13. I confirm that I understand that if I pay my membership fee by credit or debit card, the transaction will be handled by Paypal, an independent third party. I also confirm that I understand that it will be necessary for the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd to pass the personal details disclosed in my membership application form to Paypal, to enable them to successfully process my transaction.
14. I confirm that I understand that my credit or debit card details will not be held or processed by the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd or by Cymnet, and that consequently Cymnet and the South East Wales Hang Gliding and Paragliding Club Ltd, its Directors, Officers and Executive Committee, can not be held responsible for any breach of security connected with the payment of membership fees through the Paypal system and server, or for any loss directly or indirectly incurred through use of the Paypal service.
