Bedlinog 28th June 2009. NorriS
posted by Norris
on Sun 28 Jun 21:08
Weather was poor for local ridge soaring again today so we went to Bedlinog with the motor again. Cookie was there doing lots of extreme ground handling and was seen clambering over his van, Simon was there too boating around, his wife was there too, she is a better welder than I am, and much prettier, and poor Jamie managed to collide with his trailer. He was intending to fly...

Paramotoring - Bedlinog 27th June.

Mark phoned to let me know that Welsh Air Sports was on Bedlinog and I told him I was getting ready to be there soon myself. After loading a lot of kit into the van we set off and bought some more petrol and then headed off to Bedlinog where Edi had set up his SOL gazebo to give his students some welcome shelter from the scorching sun. Not often I get to write that! After...

In the case of Draycott, pilots must be members of the Avon club. The site rules are available on...

Broken Gate to Fochriw.

Meant to put in my last post that the gate to the track below Fochriw is broken; the weld holding the bottom hinge on has broken so the gate is only supported by the top hinge, when you open it the full weight needs to be supported, care needs to be taken that this doesn't catch you by surprise, it is a heavy gate. It needs repairing before the top hinge breaks too, Any one...

Merthyr from above! June 14th.
posted by Norris
on Sat 20 Jun 00:12
Cloud base on the 14th was about 3500 ft above the hill at Merthyr, I know cos I got there! I slope landed below the rocky cliffs twice, once cos I misjudged the lift and once because someone was flying with his eyes shut, apparently. Some of the visiting pilots like to fly a lot too close for my liking. I don’t mind pilots like Stuart, Cookie and a few other local boys...

Nantymoel 13th June 2009.

Called Cookie who wasn’t sure where to go but we eventually decided on Nantymoel. He said take the kayak just in case it was blown out. Jenny and I set off with the dogs in the camper and just as we got to the lights at Treorchy Stuart phoned to tell me that Nanty was on, he was just about to take off. I said I would be with him in five and booted the van up the hill. Well...
