are girls better pilots than boys?

How are you defining "better"?

The subject came up in a bar while we were in Italy - particularly about the UK scene.

I'm going to give a 'diplomatic' response, and say that there is certainly more scope for girls to push for a top spot - probably due to there being fewer challengers for the title. I think it has more to do with the mind-set of the individual, and that's a personailty trait rather than one of gender.
